This course is designed to help parishioners/church security members prepare for threats against Houses of Worship. This course will consist of the following: - After Action/Evacuation Procedures - Church Security Assessment Workshops - Coordination with Law Enforcement - First Aid Application - Lessons Learned from Previous Church Shootings - Preparing Documentation for Court Cases - Security Team Structure & Responsibilities - Use of Force Scenarios, Tools and Applications Each student will receive a copy of the book Countering the Mass Shooter Threat. In this book, author Michael Martin analyzes data gathered from 48 mass shootings that have occurred since Columbine to determine what can be learned from these tragedies, including whether a reduction in magazine capacity or the banning of any class of firearm, would have changed the outcome. In this class, we will learn how to practically apply the extremely useful knowledge provided in the book.
